ND WORKFORCE & HR CONFERENCE TOUR REGISTRATION

This year, on Wednesday, September 18, we will be providing local business tours of Northrup Gromman Corporation, Minnkota Power Cooperative, and Retrax Retractable Bed Covers. Bus spots must be reserved in advance as seating is limited.

Tour Information for Wednesday, September 18th, 2019:

Northrop Grumman (10:00-12:00) – Nonregional Recruitment & Retention Tactics: Northrop Grumman is a powerhouse in the UAS industry and nearly half of their Grand Forks employee base is recruited from outside of the region. Participants will tour the state-of-the-art facility located at Grand Sky and learn about how they’ve been able to successfully recruit and retain a thriving workforce.

The bus loads at 10:15 and arrives at Grand Sky to clear Northrop Grumman security by 10:35. The tour will last 35 minutes, followed by a 25-30 minute conversation on how to recruit and retain candidates in from outside of regional markets. Participants will eat lunch on-site during the conversation. The bus will depart around 11:40 and be back on-site at 12:00. Minnkota Power (1:00-2:15) – Designing for Workplace Wellness & Culture Minnkota Power has completed renovations on a new facility, keeping workforce wellness and culture at the forefront of design thinking, along with energy efficiency. Participants will tour the 252,000 square foot headquarters that houses more than 200 employees. The bus will load at 1:00 and will return by 2:15.

Retrax (3:00-4:15) – New American Workforce Integration As part of efforts to create a thriving recruitment strategy, Retrax has made minor adjustments to their facilities in order to integrate an immigrant workforce. Participants will experience first-hand how policies and facilities can be designed to make people from multiple cultures and backgrounds feel welcomed and accepted. The buss will load at 3:00 and return by 4:15.
